Scandinavian training should help Koster in upcoming races

Scandinavian training should help Koster in upcoming races

Team Jumbo-Visma Women will be racing in Scandinavia this week. The team starts Saturday and Sunday in the Postnord Vårgårda West Sweden and is Tuesday at the start of the Tour of Scandinavia. Anouska Koster has been training in Norway for some time now and will ride both races. "I am very much looking forward to these races”, she says.

The 28-year-old Koster rode the Giro Donne and subsequently opted for a short period without races. "I went to Scandinavia and did my training here. I think it went super well. In addition, I enjoy the beautiful nature and I can also relax a bit”, says Koster, who can not wait to pin on her bib number. "After a small break, I want to race again. I feel fine and want to show myself."

The two-day stage race in Sweden starts coming Saturday with a 36-kilometre team time trial. "Last year, we rode a team time trial in the Giro. For many girls it will be the first time they ride this discipline in this composition. We haven't trained specifically for it, but we will fight for a good result."

According to Koster, Sunday's final stage is suitable for Marianne Vos. "That day, we will try to bring Marianne to the finish as good as possible. Hopefully she can perform well. Her form is currently good”, Koster says.

Tour of Scandinavia

On Monday, Koster and her teammates travel to the Danish capital Copenhagen where the six-day Tour of Scandinavia will start one day later. "The race has a balanced course that takes us from Denmark to Norway. We will ride with almost the same riders as in Sweden. The race offers opportunities to sprinters and climbers. I want to show myself as soon as the road goes up. I hope to go up with the best. The Giro went well for me in that regard”, Koster says. "Perhaps I can ride a good classification that way. That would be a nice and welcome bonus. We want to show ourselves as a team in the coming week and will do everything to show ourselves in the front. We are ready and looking forward to it."
