Anna Henderson takes second place in prologue Baloise Ladies Tour

Anna Henderson has taken second place in the prologue of the Baloise Ladies Tour. The British rider came just two seconds short of taking the win. Germany’s Lisa Klein took first place.

"”These were the longest two hours of my life.” - Anna Henderson"

The prologue was an important goal in the agenda of Team Jumbo-Visma Women. The team was eager to get a good result in the short 3.8 km time trial with start and finish in Utrecht. Henderson was the first rider of the black-and-yellow formation to ride off the starting podium. The British rider immediately set a fast time and nobody seemed to come close. It was ultimately up to the last rider of the day, who improved Henderson’s time. “The last two hours were the longest of my life. It was incredibly exciting. I’m really proud of this result and I’m looking forward to the next few days.”

Sports director Lieselot Decroix looked back on the prologue. “We just didn’t manage to take the first place, but this is a very nice performance by Anna. The other girls rode very solid today. That only gives us more motivation to do even better in the coming days. The team has shown it’s in shape and that there are enough possibilities for the general classification.”
