Team Visma | Lease a Bike immediately showed its attacking intentions in the final stage of the Deutschland Tour. Ian Kings, who is part of the Development Team, joined a six-rider breakaway that built up a lead of more than three minutes.

While Kings remained in contention from the breakaway deep into the finale, the rest of the team also made their presence felt at the front of the race. On the second ascent of the Jägerhaus, Barré was the first to attack, but the peloton came back together later on. The Frenchman tried again on the final climb, but his brave attempt ultimately did not stick. Paul Magnier won the stage, while Barré secured second place in the overall classification after a strong week.

“I’m extremely happy with my second place in the overall classification,” Barré reflected. “At first, the course didn’t really suit me because I would have preferred it to be a bit harder. But I felt good throughout the week, and it was great to race aggressively together as a team every day. To be rewarded with a stage win and a place on the overall podium is really special.”

Team DS Gäetan Pons also looked back positively on the past week. “Today, just like throughout the entire week, we showed our strength as a team. The goal was to win a stage and finish on the overall podium, and we achieved that. For Louis to finish second behind Del Toro, one of the best riders in the peloton, is a tremendous achievement. I look back on the week with a good feeling, and I’m proud of what the team has shown over the past few days.”
