The wet and slippery roads caused several crashes in the early stages of the race. Team Visma | Lease a Bike stayed out of trouble and was well positioned in the final lap with Sadnik. However, the Austrian had no answer to Lorena Wiebes' attack on the Zavelberg, who rode to victory. Sadnik finished just behind her in sixth place.

"For me personally, a top ten finish couldn't have been better. I felt good and was looking forward to starting here after Strade Bianche last weekend. The race started off pretty hectic with a few crashes. It was super important to stay on the bike and keep my focus for the final laps. I didn't put too much pressure on myself and wanted to see how I felt during the day."

"I knew how important it was to start the final lap in a good position, so I tried to move up as far as possible at the end. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep up when Lorena accelerated, but I can be very satisfied with sixth place."
