Roest, De Vries and Bosker crossed the line in 3:45.68, finishing more than a second ahead of Japan (3:46.72). The bronze medal went to Russia (3:47.28). The Netherlands set a new track record as well, beating the time of Japan (set on December 7^th of 2018) by almost two seconds: 3:45.68 vs. 3:47.50.

"We chose the right strategy for these kind of circumstances", De Vries said. "The race went really well and I am happy we won today. I like it when the Team Pursuit is the last race of the tournament, because you can skate your own races first and then focus on the team. It felt great to skate with the other two guys. We trained a lot together the last couple of months, so we were used to skate together. We did not have any problems at all today."

Sunday's gold medal was the fourth victory of the weekend for Team Jumbo-Visma. Roest won the 5,000-meter race on Friday, after Kjeld Nuis and Thomas Krol took a gold medal in the men's Team Sprint. On Saturday Krol seized gold in the men's 1,500-meter race. Team Jumbo-Visma skaters Nuis (1,500 meters), Carlijn Achtereekte (3,000 meters) and Antoinette de Jong (Ladies' Team Pursuit) earned a silver medal in Poland.

Krol, who set a time of 1:45.76, beat his teammate and Olympic champion Kjeld Nuis by 0.20 second at 1,500 meters on Saturday. Nuis finished second (1:45.96) and the Russian skater Denis Yuskov ended up in third place: 1:46.28. Last week Nuis had won the 1,500-meter race in Minsk, with Krol finishing third and Yuskov second. For Krol it was his second World Cup win at 1,500 meters of his career. On December 15th of 2018 he won a 1,500-meter race at Thialf, Heerenveen.

"I have skated four races this season in the ISU World Cup. Three times I won a gold medal and once I took bronze. It's going really well", Krol said after his race. "I have learned how to win. I know I can beat everyone as long as I skate well. This season I have already done it a couple of times, so that's great."

Nuis was disappointed after his second place. "I don't feel well about my own race. It was ok, but it sucks I didn't win today. I went into the race slower than I did last week, but this was way too slow. If I start faster, I know I can get Thomas. He certainly hasn't stolen this one. Thomas deserved to win."

Roest took his second consecutive 5,000-meter gold in the World Cup and his fourth in total on Friday. The Dutchman skated a solid race and crossed the line in 6:19.38. Danila Semerikov's (Russia) time (6:20.46) turned out to be good enough for silver, with his compatriot Yuskov taking his second 5,000-meter bronze of the season in 6:24.30.

"It's always nice to win", Roest said. "It was a solid race, but not as good as in Minsk last week. Maybe I am a little bit less sharp and fit, because of all the races at the beginning of the season."

Roest stays on top of the long-distance World Cup ranking. "I will skate in Nur-Sultan (3^rd ISU World Cup), but I'll skip Nagano (4^th ISU World Cup), so I don't know what the classification looks like after that, but I definitely want to skate the World Cup final in Heerenveen in March."

At the first two ISU World Cups of the season (Belarus and Poland) Team Jumbo-Visma has won a total of fourteen medals. After a small break the team goes to Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan/December 6-8) and Nagano (Japan/December 13-15). On December 27th the speed skaters will return to Thialf (Heerenveen) for the National Single Distance Championships.
