Team Jumbo-Visma Women finishes Tour de la Semois in attractive way

Team Jumbo-Visma Women has showed its strength in the final stage of the Tour de la Semois. Amber Kraak was in the leading group all day. Anouska Koster showed herself in the final and finished in the top ten of the general classification.

Early in the stage a group of six rode away. Directly from the start, the attacking Kraak rode in a very attentive way. This earned her a place in the leading group. At about forty kilometres from the finish, the leaders were joined by a large group, including Koster. In the final stage, four riders rode away. At that moment Kraak and Koster did not succeed in finding the connection.

"I was able to learn a lot here."

Amber Kraak

“I tried to save some energy”, Kraak said. “The expectation was that Anouska would cross the steep climb together with some strong riders. This turned out to be the case. After that I rode empty in service of Anouska. Unfortunately we couldn’t close the gap to the four leaders at the end. Nevertheless, I look back on this race with a good feeling. I was able to learn a lot here."

"We made the best of it."

Lieselot Decroix

Sports director Lieselot Decroix could only complimented her riders. “A tough stage today. The intention was to send someone along in the breakaway. It was nice that Amber was able to do that. Eventually Anouska was also able to make the connection. We made the best of it. Tactically we didn’t make any mistakes. Unfortunately some other riders were just a bit better.”
