Team Jumbo-Visma Women look back on satisfactory Simac Ladies Tour

Team Jumbo-Visma Women have finished the Simac Ladies Tour on Sunday with a good feeling. In the six-day race, the team won a stage on home soil with Riejanne Markus and collected a few nice places of honour, including third place in the general classification for Karlijn Swinkels.

Swinkels and Anna Henderson sprinted to fifth and sixth place respectively in the final stage in and around Arnhem. Race coach Carmen Small was satisfied with the outcome. "We went into this sixth stage to defend Karlijn's third place and succeeded. We made it difficult for ourselves by not anticipating the escape, but that doesn't diminish the great performance of the past week."

"The girls rode very well this week"

Over the previous six days, Small saw a competitive team that was strong on all fronts. That earned the team the win in the team classification. "The girls rode very well this week. They worked together perfectly and were constantly in control of the race. That is one of the main focus points of our team and we are still developing ourselves in this field. We are more than satisfied with last week, with Riejanne's stage victory and Karlijn's podium finish serving as the undisputed highlights. We finished with three riders in the top ten of the classification. I think that shows the strength of the team", concluded a satisfied Small.
