Team Jumbo-Visma Women maintains position in mountain time trial Giro

Team Jumbo-Visma Women have come through the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia Donne well. On the uphill time trial course in Formazza, the victory went to the pink jersey wearer Anna van der Breggen. Marianne Vos recorded the fastest time in the race against the clock for Team Jumbo-Visma.

The Dutch rider crossed the line at the top of the climb in Riale over four minutes behind winner Van der Breggen. “Our focus is mainly on the coming days. Nevertheless, it was a tough climb today. In the ‘maglia ciclamino’ I got a lot of encouragement from the Italian ‘tifosi’. It’s nice to see how the Giro lives in those remote mountain villages.”

The team is especially looking forward to the coming days, sports director Marco Postma said. “This climb time trial was especially important for the classification riders. That’s not where our goals lie in this Giro. In the coming days there will be some beautiful stages that suit us very well. That’s what we focus on.”
