Team Visma | Lease a Bike sets sights on Jebel Hafeet after smooth fifth stage of UAE Tour

Team Visma | Lease a Bike got through the fifth stage of the UAE Tour well. The yellow and black formation did not get involved in the battle for the stage win in the streets of Dubai, but focused mainly on the general classification.

The day before the difficult stage to Jebel Hafeet, the fast men had one more chance to test themselves. Three riders formed the breakaway of the day, but the peloton kept the leaders within reach. With three kilometres to go, the trio's adventure was over and the sprinters could prepare for the final bunch sprint.

Jonathan Milan once again proved to be the fastest. The riders of Team Visma | Lease a Bike crossed the finish line safely. "These are always tricky days, but fortunately everyone got through it well", sports director Maarten Wynants said. "It was the second fastest stage in the history of the UAE Tour. The pace was quite high right from the start and then everything was controlled."

"Our priority is to keep Jørgen in the top ten of the GC."

"Towards the end, it got a bit exciting with the wind. Our men tried to time it by moving up to the front and they did a good job. Everyone thought it would go sideways in the last 15 kilometres, but in the end it wasn't so bad. From now on, we can focus on tomorrow."

The stage to Jebel Hafeet will determine the final classification. "Our priority is to keep Jørgen in the top ten of the GC. In addition, it would be great if Ben could take a step in the right direction and Wilco could possibly move up to the top ten. We will do our utmost to achieve a good result."
