Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women play no role in final queen stage of Tour de Romandie Féminin

Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women play no role in final queen stage of Tour de Romandie Féminin

Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women was unable to play a role in the final of the queen stage of the Tour de Romandie Féminin. In the tough final climb to Vercorin, the riders of the yellow-black formation had to let go of the depleted peloton. Demi Vollering won the second stage.

In the second stage of the Swiss stage race, four riders chose to attack after 30 kilometers. The riders created a small gap but were caught well before the final climb. On the flanks of the Vercorin, the pace then immediately increased. The riders of the yellow-and-black team gave everything but fell short of playing a role in the finale. In the final kilometers, Vollering proved to have the strongest legs.

“That we could not compete for the win today, I already expected,” team leader Jos van Emden looked back realistically. “We knew that today would be a very difficult stage for us. Unfortunately, we couldn't compete for prizes in this strong field. Still, as a team, we always have to show ourselves in stages.”

"In tomorrow's stage, there are enough opportunities to show us"

Jos van Emden

The Tour de Romandie Féminin ends tomorrow with a tough hill stage, where Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women wants to show themselves at least one more time. “In tomorrow's stage, there are enough opportunities to show us. I hope that tomorrow we don't just follow, but also try to make the race ourselves. Then there are possibilities for a good result in the day's results,” Van Emden concluded his story.
