Vos rushes to convincing victory in prologue Simac Ladies Tour

Marianne Vos has won the prologue of the Simac Ladies Tour. In the streets of Ede, the leader of Team Jumbo-Visma sprinted to a time just above three minutes. No rider was able to match this time. It is the ninth victory of the season for the women of Team Jumbo-Visma.

The Dutch rider started as one of the favourites and lived up to that role with flying colours. “I started halfway, because I just like the prologue to be over with. In the end the waiting still took quite a long time”, a relieved Vos said.

"We wanted to go for a stage win, so it is superb that we succeeded."

On the twisty, technical and short course, the three-time Simac Ladies Tour winner rode a prologue that suited her perfectly. “It is unbelievable that it worked out, because there were a lot of fast riders at the start. I already explored the course last Friday, but during the race it always feels different. It is important that you know the course almost by heart, that you almost know it backwards, so to speak. The team has also been really busy with the right technique. It comes down to the details when the prologue is so short. We wanted to go for a stage win, so it is superb that we succeeded.”

For Vos, it is her fifth win of the season.
