Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women rush to victory in team time trial Princess Anna Vasa Tour

Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women won the team time trial in the Princess Anna Vasa Tour. The yellow-black formation completed the 3.2-kilometer course in Toruń fastest. Riejanne Markus crossed the line first and will start in the leader's jersey tomorrow.

The third edition of the Polish stage race began with a short team time trial through the streets of Toruń. Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women, the last team to ride, got off to a flying start. At the finish line, the riders recorded a time of 03:46, putting them six seconds below the time of MAT Atom Deweloper Wroclaw. For the yellow-black formation, it is the twelfth victory of the season.

"I am super proud of the team"

Riejanne Markus

“I am super proud of the team,” Markus says. “Three of our riders had never ridden a team time trial before; I think they did very well. There were some small mistakes, but together as a team, we recovered very well. I really like the team time trial, and I am very happy that as a team we were able to win this stage.”

Because Markus crossed the line first, she will start in the leader's jersey tomorrow. “It's nice to start tomorrow in the leader's jersey. We are going to try to defend the jersey in the next few days, and besides that, I am looking forward to the time trial on Sunday. I have also made that a goal. Furthermore, I hope to gain race rhythm towards the Tour de France.”
