In pictures: Impressive performances in Paris-Roubaix

‘The Hell of the North’ is behind us. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot claimed victory in Paris-Roubaix after an impressive solo effort. Wout van Aert finished fourth in the men’s race, while Pietro Mattio took fifth place in the U23 edition in northern France. Relive the weekend below in pictures!

The weekend started off excellent for Team Visma | Lease a Bike. Ferrand-Prévot crowned a brilliant team performance with an impressive solo victory. With just under 25 kilometers to go to the Vélodrome, the French rider broke away on her own. She managed to hold off the chasing group and crossed the finish line solo on the Roubaix Vélodrome. Behind Ferrand-Prévot, Marianne Vos sprinted to fourth place.

Men's team

In the men’s race, the action started early. The favorites started pushing on the cobbles of Trouée d’Arenberg. Matthew Brennan — who raced impressively as a 19-year-old debutant — and Van Aert were part of the front group, but had to let five riders go. From that moment on, it was a race of chasing. After a strong comeback effort, Van Aert was still able to contest the sprint for a podium spot, but ultimately had to settle for fourth place.
