Realistic Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women aims to learn and grow in 2025 Tour de France Femmes

One of the key races for Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women in 2025 will once again be the Tour de France Femmes. The pinnacle of the cycling season offers the Dutch team an excellent opportunity to showcase themselves on the sport’s grandest stage. This summer, the team is determined to aim high with riders like Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Marianne Vos, but they are keeping a realistic outlook.

“We want to see how far we can get in the general classification”, says sports director Rutger Tijssen. “But we’re not setting a specific result as a goal. Pauline is just now returning to road racing, and it’s important to stay realistic. Her ultimate objective is to compete for the Tour victory within three years, but for the coming season, our focus is on learning and growing as a team. That means we might target a podium finish in the summer, or we might end up going for a top-10 result.”

Ferrand-Prévot, who joined Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women this year and transitioned from mountain biking to road racing, acknowledges that competing for the top prize right away isn’t realistic. “I mainly want to be 100% prepared for the Tour”, she explains. “That way, I won’t have any regrets afterward. We still don’t know exactly what I can achieve, but the most important thing is giving everything with the team to arrive at the start in peak condition. From there, we’ll see what’s possible.”

Ferrand-Prévot looks forward to road cycling comeback with Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women

“This year’s edition will mostly be a learning process, helping us understand what can be improved for the future”, the French rider continues. “In the years ahead, I may return with higher ambitions, but for now, I think I still need time to build toward my absolute top level.”

"It’s all part of a process"

In addition to Ferrand-Prévot, Vos will play a key role in the team’s ambitions. Last year, Vos secured the green jersey in the Tour de France Femmes, and she’s eager to return to La Grande Boucle. “The Tour is always a major goal for me”, she says. “I want to perform at my best and support the team as much as I can. We have a strong group, and I’m excited to fight together for great results.”

After successful year, Vos remains ambitious for new cycling season

The team views the 2025 edition as a stepping stone toward their long-term ambitions. “It’s all part of a process”, Tijssen explains. “We want to improve step by step and give Pauline the time she needs to fully adapt to road racing. With Marianne as an experienced leader and a talented team around them, we have a solid foundation to build something special—not just for 2025, but for the years to come.”
