Dominant Chladoňová reclaims national cyclo-cross title

Viktória Chladoňová has become Slovak cyclo-cross champion for the fourth consecutive year. On the fast course in Trnava, the 19-year-old rider from Team Visma | Lease a Bike convincingly defeated her competitors.

"I am extremely pleased with this victory", Chladoňová begins. "I knew, just like in previous years, that I had a good chance of winning the title. However, anything can happen in a cyclo-cross race, so I had to stay focused."

Chladoňová rode the first laps together with Sofia Ungeróva, who was able to keep up for a long time. After several attempts, Chladoňová managed to break away from Ungeróva. After more than 45 minutes, the youngster was able to make the victory gesture.

"It means a lot to me to be champion again."

"It means a lot to me to be Slovak champion again. Every title is special to me", continues Chladoňová, who became national champion on the road and in the individual time trial earlier this year. "What I really like is that I get to ride in the champion's jersey for the rest of the season. I'm really looking forward to that."
