"I don't get many opportunities to race for an overall classification," Van Aert said after the finish. "That's why I'm really happy to experience this again. It's a great way to wrap up the week."

The 127-kilometer final stage to Rødovre began at a hectic pace, with numerous attacks before a breakaway finally established itself. Once on the local circuit, the intensity increased again, but Team Visma | Lease a Bike kept the race under control throughout the day to safely defend the leader's jersey.

The team also committed fully to setting up a bunch sprint for Van Aert. The breakaway was only caught late in the race, and the sprint turned into a chaotic affair. Van Aert found himself boxed in and was unable to contest the stage victory.

"We really wanted to make something of today," the Belgian explained. "We needed the whole team to bring it back for a sprint. I was disappointed to get boxed in and not have the chance to sprint. In the end, I'm just happy to make it to the finish safely and keep the jersey, although I would have loved to fight for a result today."

It marked the end of a successful Tour of Denmark for Team Visma | Lease a Bike. With three stage victories, the overall title, and the green points jersey, the team can look back on a strong week in Denmark. Christophe Laporte also finished fourth in the general classification, giving Team Visma | Lease a Bike two riders in the top four overall.
