How we tackle phishing together with Yielder at Team Visma | Lease a Bike

At Team Visma | Lease a Bike, everything is about achieving maximum performance. That applies not only on the bike, but also behind the scenes. As an international cycling team, we work daily with sensitive information, ranging from training data and performance analyses to medical information and strategic race data. To further strengthen our digital resilience, we work together with Yielder on a programme focused on phishing and security awareness.

Within Team Visma | Lease a Bike, we believe in the principle of marginal gains: the idea that many small improvements together lead to major performance gains. We apply this way of working not only to training, nutrition, and equipment development, but also to digital security. Technical security measures form an important foundation, but ultimately it is people who make the difference. That is why we invest in awareness around digital risks. Phishing remains one of the most common methods cybercriminals use to gain access to systems and data. By gradually strengthening employees’ ability to recognise these threats, we increase the resilience of our organisation.

Phishing simulations

Together with Yielder, we are building a culture in which digital security is as natural as the focus we place on performance, health, and innovation. Through realistic phishing simulations and targeted training, employees learn to recognise digital threats more quickly and respond appropriately.

As in sport, we believe continuous development makes the difference. By regularly running new simulations and sharing insights, we keep challenging ourselves and improving. Digital security is not the responsibility of one department, but of the entire organisation. By making the topic open for discussion and sharing experiences, we gradually strengthen our resilience.

"Thanks to Yielder’s security awareness program, we know exactly where we stand and where we need to make adjustments"

Insights

The collaboration with Yielder gives us insight into where we stand and where we can still grow as an organisation. “Thanks to Yielder’s security awareness program, we know exactly where we stand and where we need to make adjustments,” says Wesley de Veer, IT Manager at Team Visma | Lease a Bike. This fits the way we work within Team Visma | Lease a Bike: continuously looking for small improvements that make us stronger. By increasing awareness and encouraging safe digital behaviour, we take a step forward every day when it comes to digital security.
