The riders lined up for another one-day race in Bretagne. The peloton set off from Pointe du Raz for 130 kilometers toward Plouhinec, where several local laps awaited. The rolling course also featured several gravel sections. 

The challenging course caused the peloton to be whittled down early on. Amber Kraak and Megan Jastrab made the first breakaway of the day. Not long afterward, Katharina Sadnik joined the duo. The Austrian champion from Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women and her breakaway companions built a maximum lead of one and a half minutes. 

Just under 30 kilometers from the finish, a crash caused chaos in the peloton. Van Dam and Daniek Hengeveld both went down. Shortly afterward, a small group, including Rosita Reijnhout, managed to bridge across to the front of the race. 

On the local laps in Plouhinec, Elisa Longo Borghini launched a strong attack, but the group did not let her get away. Shortly afterward, a trio consisting of Célia Gery, Paula Blasi and a strong Reijnhout accelerated. The three worked well together, but the chasing group remained close behind. Meanwhile, Van Dam managed to rejoin the chase group. In a thrilling finale, everything came back together. Berton was the fastest in the sprint from a small group. Van Dam crossed the line in fourth. 

“It was a tough and chaotic afternoon,” Van Dam said afterward. “The race opened up from the first gravel section. We raced attentively as a team, which meant we always had someone up front. Unfortunately, Daniek and I were involved in that heavy crash during one of the final laps. Luckily, Imogen (Wolff) helped me get back to the group. I did that on a teammate’s bike. I was just a little short in the sprint, but we can absolutely be proud of the way we raced. We fought all the way to the finish.” 

Sports director Joppe de Heij also looked back: “As a team, we made our mark on the race,” he said. “First, Katharina was part of a strong breakaway, and not long afterward, Rosita also went on the attack. It was impressive to see Sarah fight her way back after her crash in the finale, allowing her to feature at the front for the second day in a row. We can look back on a successful weekend.”
