Since 2020, Team Visma | Lease a Bike has had its own Development Team. Since then, fourteen riders have graduated to the team's WorldTour squad. Additionally, ten riders turned professional with other teams. Together, they have already won 74 professional races. This establishes Team Visma | Lease a Bike as one of the most successful development teams ever.

Talent development in cycling is starting at increasingly younger ages. Through our extensive scouting network, we focus on identifying talents at a young age. Subsequently, and partly thanks to founding partner Jumbo, young riders can receive intensive guidance through CyclingclassNL, an initiative independent of associations, which we established in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Cycling Union and the Dutch Olympic committee NOC*NSF for Dutch riders in the junior category.

Additionally, we have a partnership with the Dutch cycling club JEGG-SKIL-DJR. In the junior team of this club, we bring together talented juniors from both domestic and international backgrounds and prepare them for the transition to our professional cycling team.

Within the Team Visma | Lease a Bike structure, everyone under contract has access to the same developmental opportunities. This means that riders from both Team Visma | Lease a Bike and Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development often race and train together. Each rider is offered a tailored training program with the ultimate goal of maximizing talent for both the rider and the team. Talent development begins before a rider joins the Development Team and does not end when a rider officially signs with the WorldTour team.

Within our training structure, we focus on physical, tactical, and personal development. We collaborate with top coaches and specialists in nutrition, training, and equipment. We opt for a holistic and personalized approach so that each rider can maximize their potential. In addition to the individual development of each rider, we also place a strong emphasis on team dynamics. We understand that only by racing as a cohesive team we can extract the maximum potential from each individual rider.
